Relocating

Since we are in the process of moving to a new home, I thought what better time to move to a new blog too!

I love this blog, but started it to document our journey to becoming a family through open adoption. I do plan on still occasionally posting here, but I'm going to try to have the posts be more about our experience with adoption and how it relates to Nate, Leo and I, rather than having tons of adorable pictures of Leo posted. Our relationship with Leo's BMom has changed quite a bit these last 6 months for unknown reasons- I'll post more about that here in the future.

But in the mean time-- here's the link to our new blog, which will feature tons of adorable pics of our Leo as well as the progress being made on our new home, craftiness, recipes and lots more.

For Rent

Great progress is being made with our new home! We stopped by the house on Sunday to take a quick peek- the drywall is up! Yeah! That being said... time is flying by and we are looking for a renter for our current townhome. Here is the ad I wrote up today, please feel free to share it with anyone in the Twin Cities that is looking to rent!

Easter Bunny

This past Tuesday we headed to the MOA to take the kiddos to see the Easter Bunny! All 3 kids did great, although they weren't quite in the mood to sit and have their pictures taken (the girls sat, they just didn't want to focus on smiling...). Leo was excited to see the Bunny, then was overcome with this blank stare while sitting there. When the girls sat with the Bunny, Leo thought is was pretty funny- he tried running to Lily- so we sat Leo with them, but he wouldn't stay for the photo opp.

Here's a pic of Leo & I with our friends, April & Stewart! They met us out at the mall to join in the Easter Bunny fun! Leo and Stewart are just over a month apart in age and both boys made April and I Mommas through Adoption!

Big Boy Bed!

Leo officially learned how to climb out of his crib this week- well, almost out of his crib... He got stuck on top of the rails and yelled "Stuck!" until Nate ran up to get him down. This was during naptime on Monday, so Monday evening we decided to take one side of the crib rail off to see what Leo's reaction was. Well, he was all smiles!

We bought a guard to go along his mattress to keep him from falling out and installed it before bedtime- Leo was really excited that he was able to climb in and out on his own!

Bedtime came and somehow his bed was now the coolest play thing he'd ever seen, because he went crazy laughing while climbing in and out of it- over and over for about 20 minutes. Nate and I couldn't get him calmed down at all- he just wanted to play! Needless to say, we both grew tired of telling him to get back into bed, putting him back into his bed, and at one point chasing him down the stairs as he thought he'd move playtime downstairs at 10 pm. At that point, Nate put the crib rail back onto Leo's crib and we lined pillows below in case he was going to climb out.

On Tuesday, Leo fell asleep in the car on the way home from the mall- so Nate transferred a sleeping boy from the car into his crib (with only the guard on the side)- we counted it as a success, that Leo slept in his big boy bed for nap! After he woke up, we made sure to really praise him for being such a big boy! Bedtime that night took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get Leo to stay in his bed and fall asleep! But, he did it! And, like usual he slept through the night too!

Wednesday's naptime took only 20 minutes with bedtime taking about 30 minutes! Woo-hoo! He really was ready for a big boy bed! This will certainly make it easier when we move. I have been on the fence about what to do for his new room- do we keep him in the crib? Buy a toddler bed? Move him right to a twin size bed? Have the crib and a bed in his room? Our goal now is to have him close to being done with his crib when we move in May and hopefully sleeping in a twin size bed in the new house. 

St Patty's Day

Apparently Leo is just not a fan of celebrating St Patrick's Day.

He was in quite the funk all. day. long!

I, of course, still wanted to get a photo of him in his green shirt (that he also wore last year).

Remembering that he wore this shirt last year made me want to see a pic of him... Here's what I found.

Hahaha! Poor guy, guess we'll have to wait to see what happens next year...

We're MOVING!

We have decided it's finally time to buy a house with more room!

 We found a townhome in PL, about 3 miles from our current house. It's new construction, which means we are able to choose the woodwork, carpet, paint colors, etc! Yeah!!

The projected closing date is mid-May- so in about 2 months we will get to move in! We are super excited! There is a model of our home next door that we have visited the past 2 Saturdays- you should see Leo run through it!

It's a 2 story, 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath townhome- it's more than twice the size of our current townhome. The floor plan is very open on both the main level and the upstairs.

We meet with the builder's decorator this Friday to choose our features, then should have the electrical walk through next week to make sure everything is where we want that stuff at.

We will be renting our current townhome- the mortgage is too upside down to even think of selling it right now. So, if you know of anyone looking to rent- send them my way!
